Latin Grammy and Academy Award Winning singer-songwriter Lila Downs channels her passion and admiration of her homeland, Oaxaca, Mexico, into extraordinary music. Downs began her musical career at the age of 25 when her group La Trova Serrana captured the attention of the Latin populace in the United States. She proved both prolific and skillful in the following years, producing eleven acclaimed albums. Downs has branched out from the music, delving into the acting business as well as making her mark as a social activist for the plight of indigenous Mexican people.
