Her songs reaching up to 16 on the French Singles Charts, Natacha Atlas uses her Judaeo-Islamic background to enlighten her international audience about the politics of religion. After leaving the world fusion group Transglobal Underground, Atlas began releasing solo albums that were heavily influenced by her experiences with reggae, hip hop, and DNB. The United Nations appointed her a Goodwill Ambassador for her contribution to humanitarian efforts.
